Principal's Message

I am proud to welcome you to St Joseph’s Primary, where we continually strive for excellence in learning and offer a safe and respectful learning community.

Our students are encouraged to strive for academic excellence while at the same time they are given opportunities to develop their relationship with God. Our school is focused on promoting respect in our relationships with each other, and on providing a calm, ordered and engaging environment. St Joseph’s is an excellent place to learn.

I am extremely proud of our highly professional teaching staff who enjoy being challenged to provide exciting, innovative and relevant learning opportunities for their students. We have three Instructional Leaders across each stage who work with teachers to ensure they are delivering instructional practice of the highest possible quality. These leaders support the teachers as they ensure the individual needs of all students are met through shoulder-to-shoulder work, explicit feedback and focused professional learning.

Our approach to learning is to empower students to be independent and critical thinkers who work collaboratively to achieve success in all areas of their learning. Our recent refurbishments ensure that we are providing the best environment for learning with modern, flexible spaces fully equipped with the digital tools today’s students require.

When you join the St Joseph’s community you will see that we work together with our parent community to achieve the best outcomes for students. We offer opportunities for parents to engage with their children in their learning through workshops, ‘Celebration of Learning’ afternoons, and online learning tutorials. Through our website and social media we continually strive to provide parents with examples of what their children are learning.

At St Joseph's we try to model ourselves on our patrons, St Joseph and St Mary MacKillop who showed kindness, helped others, stood up for what was right and made positive choices.
We welcome children and families who want to enrol in our great school and benefit from a primary education at St Joseph's Kingswood.
